Working on opacity and blend modes
I’ll start off opening the Clipped adjustment layer.psd. i created a demo layer and change the background to a box shape. the i turn its view off then i clicked on the layer wing #1 then selected the shortcut option cmd+ shift+N to create a new layer and named it paint away then i select to brush tool and changed the color to white and took out the birds tail feet and one of the wings. the i went back and edited so it didn’t look funky
Three ways to duplicate a layer
Method 1. select layer wing #1 click on the fly up menu icon and choose duplicate layer. drag wing#2 to the top the hold the option key down between light contrast and wing #1 then do it again between paint away and light contrast. then turn off wing #2
Method 2. first ill select the layer menu, select the new command, then select layer via copy or press cmd+j on the mac. Then move the layer above paint away layer
Method 3. press and hold the option key on the mac.now ill drag up and you’ll see a double arrow head telling you that it is duplicating the layer to duplicate two layers at one click on one layer and shift click on the other then drag the to the top holding down the option key.
Scale, rotate, and layer masks
first ill make sure the wing #2 is selected then ill got to the file menu choose transform then choose free transform or cmd+t on the mack. then ill drag out side that value to -118 degrees then drag the bird over. ill change the x value to 583 px and the y value to 644 px. then ill select the return key to accept. then go head and select the check mark. then ill use the marquee too around the part of the wing i want to keep and select the add vector mask by the Fx button at the bottom right hand seen and you’ll notice the part of my wing stays there and the rest of the bird is gone.
Filling a selection with color.
ill start with selecting the windows menu, then by selecting the paths command next ill click the elbow layer and zoom in
